Mother's Day Idea Submissions
My unusual Mother      By Cristen Cournoyer
My mother the nurse, eductator, the person I rely on most. A special day for her would be to volunteer at a soup kitchen, or meals on wheels. An extra special day would be to take her rollerblading. In her 50's she never stops, just keeps going. More active than ever, close to retirement, but never retired. My inspiration!
A Festival For all the mom's      By Lee English
I think that we should have a big festival for all the mothers, grandmoms that bought into this world. We should dress like little hearts and should have our mom name on them.
FLOWER FOR MOTHER TO WEAR ON MOTHERS DAY      By Joyce Lacey
Simply take any flower and wrap green tape on the bottom. Then keep it refrigerated until Mothers Day. Get a long stick pin and give it to mother on her special day to wear all day long!

It was a lot of work but soooo worth it!!
Getting Together      By Jamie Grimm
On mothers day, all of the mothers, daughters, grandmothers, grandaughters etc, get together with our photo albums and share the special memories that we have of our lives together.
Relaxation      By Ali Arlt
My mom is constantly taking my family to practices and sporting events. She owns a business and does a great job, If I do say so myself, but everyone needs a break sometimes. We will clean the house to make that day start out sweet, then my sister and I will take my mom out for an afternoon of shopping, followed by an evening of dinner and gifts... and of course a fabulous cake. My mom is going to be very relaxed on her special day!
My Day      By Kimberly Thompson
Sleep in later than usual. My sons come first, if they have something special for me to do that will come first. If my mom is at work, we will go to my mother in-laws. We will spend time with her and give her gift (this year an alligator planter with some flowers). When my mom gets home from work we will go visit her (she already has her gift a windchime on a stand). Then I will go home and cook dinner. Even though it's my day, I love to cook. I will decide what we will have. Get the dishes done and relax. It's hard to get me to sit down. I like giving to others and for others. But, I also enjoy the smiles on my sons faces when they do little things for me (mom).
RELAX      By Christy
My mothers day idea is to have my mom pampered. A break off her feet, a nice massage and a relaxing day of whatever she wants to do for herself.
The perfect day      By Kayley Smith
I think that all moms deserve something very special for mothers day. When we think about how much they do for us we know there is no way to even express how much it means to us.
A perfect day would be a nice get away, whether its partying in Las Vegas or relaxing on the beach in the bahamas. It would be one of the thousands ideas to make your mothers day even more special.
Thank you, Kayley
Planting seeds      By Barbara Jackson
Plant some flowers or seeds together and make sure to take care of them through the summer....
Decorate      By Molly Jacksfeen
When it comes to mothers day, I go down stairs and I decorate the whole kitchen. And if I have a presant, I leave it out on the table. Then when she wakes up, she go's down stairs and she gets soooooo happy!!!!
Then the best part of all, WE CELEBRATE!!!!
Easy Day For Mom      By Kayla Cross
Start the day with an easy breakfast for you to make for mom. Continue the day with cleaning up for mom. Spend the day helping mom with any chore she hands out or asks you to do. End the day by telling mom you love her and all that she does for you.
watch the sunset!      By kristen roden
I would love to send my mom off for a weekend on the coast. Let her just set on the beach and watch the sunrise and sunset! Give her a book and a drink with a little umbrella. Someone to come give her a massage while she lies and listens to the waves crash around her! She loves the beach, it is her favorite most relaxing activity. she deserves it.

Secret Surprise      By Stephanie Cormier
When your mom is asleep, very quietly, get the gift your giving your mother (like some flowers, or something homemade) and put it very quietly, put the gift on the bed, and then go back to bed. When it's time to get up, make some breakfast for her, serve that to her while you see the look on her face when she wakes up, to found a gift, right there for her!!!!!!!!!!!
Honeymoon      By Rayna Schwartz
give your mom a day off and take her on a full day to give her a treatment. First take her and give her a nail treatmentfor which ever color of nails she wantsthiw will be a full treatment. then give her a ful body masage. For 1 hour. After that let her relax in a spa a get a meal in the spa. Then let her return home after a nice day of rest.
A day full of memories.      By Jerri Harrell
Instead of treating Mom to a full day of luxury with massages and such, think about this. Go to church with you Mom. Tell God how much you thank him for this present in your life. Take her home and get out the faded pictures from days gone by. Take time to laugh and remember. Your mom will appreciate the TIME spent that didn't cost a thing.
Old pictures with presents      By Ted Rauhut
Have each family member find an old memorable picture of the mom being honored and have it in each of the mother's day cards she receives...im betting this will bring an extra smile to her face with each card, and it will give you a chance to go down memory lane with her.
Scrapbooking anyone?      By Jaclyn
I love to scrapbook, so one year i made my mother an empty scrap book completely ready to load with pictures. Then i baught two disposable cameras and we took her on a lavish mothers day adventure all about her. A day with her babies, the spa, dinner with the rest of the family and an all inclusive night to the theatre for her and her man. Once i got the pictures developed her mothers day gift was complete! Being 4 of us we spent a fair buck, but the main idea here is the gift of a memory!
Dinner      By shannell

A Day At the Mall      By Henry Minner
Lunch or dinner out at the mall. Shopping for an outfit. Then a movie, comedy or action movie. The end will be banana split to splurge for the day. Maybe even a massage.
Salute the Queen      By Erica
Make your mother "Queen For a Day". I have 2 younger brothers, so we would make the crown and add pictures to it of us and our mother. We would treat her like a Queen all day, as long as she was wearing the crown. Each of us would write why we think our mom deserves to be treated like a queen and each of us would read it to her some time on Mother's Day.
A Day At The Spa      By Christian Roberts
The last thing Mom needs is more perfume... Send her for a day at the sap. to be pampered and primped with a massage, hair and makeup followed by a nice dinner out somewhere special.
The Daughter's Kiss      By Kayla Nelson
Ok, to start off, you need to get a few things.
A lot of Hersey Kisses
Carmel
Vanilla Ice Creme
Whip Creme
Fudge
Put some ice creme into a big bowl, then put fudge and carmel all over it(they represent all the fun and messy times you have had together). Next, Put the Hersey Kisses all over the place(it represents all the chocolate you have ate together through all your years). Then put the whip creme all over the place(it represents the sweet times you've spent together).
After you get that ready, take some of the Hersey Kisses you got(leave them in the wrapper) and place them in a heart around a Mother's Day Card.
After your mom comes in and sees the card and kisses on the floor/bed/table(watever), sneak up behind her, and kiss her on the cheek , then hand her the ice creme, and say, "I Love You Mom". This will send her into tears, and then the teo of you will sit down and eat the big bowl of ice creme together. Just like when you were a little girl.
This will be the best Mother's Day Gift she ever got.
Chore saver      By Kenneth Hoffman
Pick a chore that Mother hates to do and do it for her.
Special Day      By Lisa Estrella
Go to a spa and get a facial and massage together. Then eat lunch at the spa. Finish out the day with a manicure and pedicure. To make it more exciting, don't share the excursion. Just tell her to have the day reserved, wear comfortable clothing and shave her legs. Then surprise her when you get there.
Spa      By Lindsay Millis
Treat mom to a day at the spa! It's time she gets pampered for all of the hard work she puts in, day after day.
Treating Mom      By AA McLemore
Do the things your mom normally has to ask you to do before she ever asks you to do them.
A mother's day book!      By Radhika Jaini
I have a large family and we made a little story book for our mom last year. It featured cropped pictures of all of us, magazine clippings, etc. It was very colorful and told a short little story about 6 kids who loved their mother very much... I think it's her favorite gift yet!
Lillie Taylor - Mother of the Year      By Mary Y. Taylor
Mother's Day Idea:

Since Mother's day falls on the 2nd Sunday of May each year we (all 11 of her children and 26 grandchildren along with spouses and all) try our very best to go to Church with My Mother. One of us kids will have the dinner at their house and shower her with more gifts and flowers than she knows what to do with. The younger kids will write poems, sing songs, etc. about their grandmother and we will all get a hoot out of the day and try to figure out how she has done this for so long and keeps looking better than ever.
The Gift of Flowers      By Lori Koutny
My mom suffered a stroke one year ago. Before her stroke, she would always plant flowers around her two trees in the front yard on Mother's Day. She is no longer able to do that. So, my 8-year-old daughter and I will be surprising her by planting flowers for her this year. And, since she would normally host dinner for all the moms in the family, I will make a dinner and take it to her house to share with her and her husband. My mom has always taken care of me. This year, it's my turn to take care of her!
Just for Her      By Dave
With a little research you should be able to find something that she has always wanted but never gotten for herself. It could be some small indulgence that is too frivilous in her mind to warrant the expense. Get it for her.

By giving her this little extravagance you show how special she is and show that you care enough to find out what it is she would like.
