Mother's Day Crafts

One of the top rated gifts that Mom's love to receive is handmade presents from their children. We have posted a couple craft ideas that are easy for kids to make and that Mom's love.

Picture Frame

You will need: popsicle sticks, glue, glitter, paint, markers, bristol board or construction paper, scissors and a picture to put in the frame.

• decorate 8 popsicle sticks any way you choose. These are going to form the face of the picture frame. A good idea is to paint or write 'Happy Mother's Day' or 'I Love You Mom' on one of the popsicle sticks that will go at the top of the picture.
• Glue your picture to a piece of bristol board or construction paper. Cut the excess bristol board or construction paper away but leave a border of construction paper around your picture so that you can add your decorated popsicle sticks to form the frame.
• Next, glue your decorated popsicle sticks to the border around your picture. With 8 popsicle sticks, you can use two on each side of the picture but you can get creative and use as many as you want.

Handprint Flower Card

You will need: coloured construction paper, glue, scissors, a pencil and markers or pencil crayons to write the message inside the card.

• take a piece of construction paper and fold it in half. Have the child place their hand on the construction paper with the outside edge of their hand at the edge of the folded side. Trace the outline of the child's hand and cut it out leaving the folded edge at the outside edge of the hand intact to form the spine of the card.
• decorate the cut out hand by making cut-out flowers from different coloured construction paper and glue them to the ends of the fingers. You can also add small leaves cut out from green construction paper to add beside the fingers.
• next, create a message inside the card, telling Mom how much you appreciate her.
