Seasonal Window Coverings      By Cherie Jordan
I have blinds on my windows so instead of standard curtains I love to hang dried flowers ,fruits ,berries and aromatic spices in decorative containers. They smell as good as they look
Leaf Tablecloth      By Joyce Poyton
I like to put a cloth brightly coloured tablecloth or fabric down on the table first. Then I take the kids out to collect different autumn coloured leaves. We let them air dry in a single layer on the rug for a few hours. Then we place them all over the brightly coloured fabric on the table. Then I put a thick, clear sheet of plastic over the leaves and set the table to eat. Sometimes, I'll put a "nest" of leaves in a bread basket and put some guords in as a centre piece.
Saving Money      By Jennifer E MacDonald
I watch the grocery ads and buy EVERYTHING on special. What a great feeling.
Decorating for fall      By Cynthia Booton
I use local plants and leaves like Salal and Oregon Grape to make centerpieces and sprays for both indoors and out during the fall. The leaves are hardy and colourful and free when they grow naturally all around us in Coastal BC.
Fall Table Top      By Linda Johnson

Maple Leaf Centerpiece      By Shirley Hill
Collect a large bunch of fallen maple leaves...an assortment of colours.....and arrange in a glass vase. Cheap......yet decorative and seasonal centerpiece for a table. The children can help with this project.

Use Items From Your Very Own Yard       By Marilyn Caillouette
No matter where you live just go outside and look around; use your imagination and pick up naturally discarded foliage (pine cones, even their needles, large magnolia leaves, all kinds of beautiful and bountiful leaves, nuts, berries of all kinds etc.)paint or leave natural and turn into arrangements for your mantle, window sills, for your guest rooms/powder rooms, kitchens! Little or very little cost involved!
Halloween Time      By Thomas Koronas
I'm going to find the biggest pumkin I can an make a jack o'lantern and put it on the porch. I will put on spooky music and put my stereo speakers by the window out front, so the kids will hear it when they come for their candy. I'll put fall leaves and skeletons in the windows, along with spiders and spider webs. I'll decorate the inside of the house with fall colors, and I have a half dozen halloween knick-knacks I'll put around on the coffee table and end tables. It'll be a very fun and great halloween I'm sure, especially when I answer the door dressed as a mummy.
Front porch      By Jody Minken
Season pole with haysatcks, corn stalks and pumpkins.
Use Colourful Leaves      By Rosemarie Murphy
Now with the leaves changing colours. You can frame them. Decorate your table. Put them on your windows etc.
Scent of Fall      By Cathy Lanno
I love the scent of candles in my home and when the seasons change, not only do I change the color palette in my home, but I change the candle scents as well. After the summer's floral scents have been put away, I bring out the spicy, cozy scents of cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. (Claire Burke's Potpourri and Christmas Memories candles are wonderful). They make the room seem so comfortable and inviting.
Table Decoration      By Liz McNamara
Mixing nuts in their shell, apples of different colors and a few mini pumpkins (orange) in a glass bowl not only looks festive but draws my family's attention to some healthy snacks. Frugel works best for us.
Football Party for the Busy Professional      By Coyote Moon
Drape your favorite teams jersey over the dining room chair, and get a stuffed football to throw around. You're all set.
Card Display      By Dave
One of my family's traditions is to display the various Christmas cards we receive. To do this we simply staple the cards to a long piece of wide ribbon, then using a thumbtack hang the ribbon on the wall. It is a nice touch and when visitors come they are thrilled to see the card they sent prominently displayed
Leaf Stained Glass.      By Dave
This fun and esy decorating idea is great to do with kids. Start by collecting autumn leaves. Then using two sheets of wax paper arrange the leaves in an interesting pattern on one of the sheets. Once you are finished, cover the leaves with the second sheet of wax paper. An adult should to this part: place the wax paper between sheets of newsprint and iron it with an old iron on medium-low heat. The wax will melt, trapping the bright leaves in a great autumn display, perfect for decorating windows.
Candle Centerpiece      By Lynn Cleary
I put one together every year. It's something you can keep out all season. Take a large glass plate or platter and add a layer of artificial fall coloured leaves, letting them stick out over the edge of the plate. Place an arrangement of pillar candles on the plate/platter and fill in some of the empty space with small pinecones or nuts.
Floral Topped Jar Candle      By Judith Dobbins
Create a perfect small floral arrangement for any space with a jar candle. Use the cover top from the candle to glue a base of leaves, flowers and twigs of the season and you have now created an arrangement. Around the rim of the candle a ribbon or straw tie finishes the centerpiece.
Potpourri      By Elva Anderson
Place a package of cinnamon or spiced potpourri in a small willow basket. Add a few pinecones and a perky bow where the handle meets the basket. Set on table and/or end table to enjoy the fragrance while dining or a sipping a spiced cup of tea.
Fall Color and Smell      By Faith Ballou
Decorate the front porch with about 3 pumkins, stager them on rocks or hay. This gives your porch warmth as fall draws near. Add a little spray of pumkin oil from Clare Burke. Neighbors are sure to love the fall look.
Table Settings      By Sandy Castaldi
Why not host an outside party under a heated tent with low tables and bales of hay to sit on instead of the conventional chairs. The bales of hay can be covered with simple slipcovers to protect your sensitive areas! Cover the tables with loosely woven materials like old grain bags or purchased burlap.
Harvest Table Setting      By Dave
To create a truely fall harvest feel, scatter brightly colored autumn leaves on the table at Thanksgiving. Also find fancy Indian corn and pull back the husks but leave the corn still on. A Cornucopia makes a great center piece especially with an abundance of brightly colored squashes, pumpkins and gourd coming forth from it!
