Halloween Decorating Ideas

Everyone loves good Halloween decorations. This year have fun dressing your home for a spooky Halloween night with these decorating ideas..

• Create an eerie glow with Halloween candle holders. Use pillar vases made out of tempered glass and tea lights. Cut jack-o-lantern faces in orange vellum paper and line the inside of the vases. Another option is to make silhouettes of black cats, bats and spider webs out of black construction paper. Votive candle holders can be decorated on the outside with rubber spiders.
  
• Place black cut outs of a witch and bats in your front window. Use a backdrop of fake spider webs and light the window from the inside so that the silhouettes can be seen clearly from outside. These cut outs also look great affixed to a mirror on your mantle with the spider web draped across the front.
  
• Transform your entrance into an eerie portal. Hang fake spider webs from the ceiling and door frames. Dangle plastic spiders at different heights from the web or ceiling with fishing wire. Light the entry way with blacklights or black lanterns containing orange votive candles.
  
• Draw ghost faces on sheets or white garbage bags and hang each over a helium-filled balloon to make them float inside the house.
  
• Turn your front yard into a graveyard. You can purchase or make fake tombstones to decorate your yard. They can be made out of cardboard or slabs of foam that you can purchase at craft stores. Spray paint them grey and use black paint to write epitaphs. Add fake spiders, cobwebs, limbs and stuffed crows throughout the display to add an extra element of creepiness.
