Family fun party

With everyone being so busy, a cookie exchange theme would be perfect. This way everyone would bake their favourite cookie and end up taking home a variety of them. I would serve some munchies while we mingle and catch up on each other's busy lives. For the kids, a variety of cookies cut out in different shapes, then iced in white royal icing...all done before the party. This would be the perfect canvas...all you do is set out little plates with food colouring and brushes and the kids will have lots of fun. As a take home gift, have everyone submit their recipes beforehand and create a recipe booklet with all the recipes of the cookies people are taking home. For the kids...a paper bag that they can decorate and take home their creations in. After the munchies, some coffee, tea and of course.....COOKIES!! - Isabel 11/19/2003

A Great Get Together

My idea of a great christmas party is at home with snacks and munchies. Not pretending to be someone I am not and inviting my FRIENDS. Snacks would incld cheese, crackers, dips, chips, mini roast been sandwiches,(just to name a few).. Plus some alchol and soda pop. Coffee is ALWAYS available.. Kids are welcome here (why should they be excluded from celebrating the holidays).- Kim 11/29/2003

Merry Festivus

Festivus Celebration...A celebration of the non existant holiday FESTIVUS...Pulled straight from the Oh so popular Seinfeld episode. All guests are invited to come over for the yearly airing of grievences. The look will represent the theme of the party. The traditional Festivus pole(Place anywhere in the room), any sort of music will do,extra cushions will be provided to all guests in case the party guests want to participate in a good old fashioned agression therapy session-ie The Festivus Party Pillow Agreesion Game is born! No traditional festive fare will be provided, however guests will munch on Miserable Mushroom Caps,Let it all out Lemon Bars, and the Festivus fave, The Why were you invited Walnut Whip Bars. With this type of party you leave knowone out, invite enemies, friends, the neighbours, people who's names you don't know at the office and think it's appropriate to still say " Hey You". This type of Festive party will always differ from the usual get togethers that take place at this time of year. Instead of Jinglin those Bells, Deck someone's Hall this Season with Festivus 2003! - Samantha 11/30/2003

Who am I?

If you are having a party where there will be a lot of people who don't know each other a great way to start them mingling is to play "Who am I". Buy name stickers and write the names of famous people on them. They may be real people either living or dead or they may even be historical or fictional characters. When each person arrives you place one of these nametags on their back without letting them see who they are. The rules are simple your guests may ask each person they meet only one question to try to help them figure out who they are. After a guest learns who the are they may remove the nametag from there back and move it to their front. - Lynn 12/01/2003
